The file folder: Robustness for continuous use

A typical file folder is designed for large quantities of paper and frequent use. To ensure this stability, special components are used:

  • Lever Arch Mechanisms: The centrepiece, firmly attached to the spine with rivets. The lever allows the clips to be opened with minimal effort.
  • Protection & comfort: Finger Ring Eyelets protect the grip hole from tearing, whilst edge protectors protect the lower edges from wear and tear.
  • Arch Eyelets: These ensure that the mechanism’s rings snap securely into the space-saving slots and that the folder remains firmly closed.

The ring binder: Sleek elegance and flexibility

Ring binders or ring folders are often flatter and more portable. Here, the lever mechanism is omitted and instead a ring mechanism is riveted directly onto the back cover or spine. The binder is opened by simply pulling the rings apart. Hold-down clips made of metal or plastic are used to secure the sheets.
