Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How do I determine the correct length of the rivet?
The shank length of the rivet should always be approximately 2–3 mm longer than the total thickness of the materials to be joined. This excess length is necessary to ensure that the closing head can form correctly during riveting and that the joint is secure.
Do I need special tools for plastic rivets?
Many of our plastic rivets (blind rivets) are designed for tool-free manual installation. They are simply pressed firmly together with the thumb. For metal hollow rivets, however, we recommend using a suitable spindle press or hand pliers.
Are metal rivets suitable for outdoor use?
Our nickel-plated metal rivets offer good corrosion protection for indoor use and short-term outdoor use. For permanent outdoor applications or damp environments, we would be happy to advise you on alternative surface finishes or the use of our weather-resistant plastic rivets.
