Magnetic Ring Binder Mechanisms: Flexible filing on metal surfaces

In industry, logistics and modern office organisation, speed is of the essence. Our magnetic Ring Binder Mechanisms allow you to place perforated documents exactly where they are needed. Whether technical drawings on the production machine or stock lists on a steel shelf – thanks to the strong magnetic adhesion, your documents remain securely fixed and are always to hand, without damaging the surface with holes.

Variety in configuration and capacity

At moog & langenscheidt, you benefit from an extensive range that offers the right mechanism for every project. Choose the optimal configuration for your requirements:

  • Number of rings: Available as a classic 2-ring mechanism (ideal for A5 or narrow A4 notices) or as a sturdy 4-ring version for A4 documents.
  • Customisable binding depths: Depending on the thickness of your documents, we offer capacities ranging from 13 mm, 16.5 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm up to 33 mm.
  • Ring shapes: Choose the R-shape (round rings) for easy page turning or the D-shape (combination mechanism) for flush and straight stacking of your papers.

Strong adhesion and surface protection

To ensure that your magnetic ring mechanism does not slip, even when fully loaded, we use powerful neodymium magnets. A special feature of our systems is the rubber coating on the magnets. This fulfils two important functions: it protects sensitive painted surfaces from scratches and significantly increases the frictional resistance (shear force), ensuring the mechanism holds securely even on vertical surfaces.

Typical areas of application: From production to the office

The possible applications for magnetic Ring Binder Mechanisms are virtually unlimited and save time across all industries:

  • Industry & manufacturing: Display of maintenance intervals, work instructions or safety data sheets directly on the machine housing.
  • Warehouse & logistics: Attaching delivery notes, stock lists or route plans to steel beams and shelving systems.
  • Office & Project Management: Flexible organisation on whiteboards, planning boards or metal doors for quick access to team documents.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How many sheets fit into a mechanism with a 25 mm capacity?

A capacity of 25 mm corresponds to approximately 200 to 250 sheets of standard paper (80 g/m²). Please note, however, that the magnetic holding force on the surface must be sufficient to support the total weight of the paper.

Can I also attach the mechanisms to curved surfaces?

As the magnets are firmly mounted on the mechanism’s sturdy metal backing plate, a flat (level) ferrous surface is required for optimum hold.

Are the mechanisms suitable for long-term outdoor use?

Our Ring Binder Mechanisms feature a high-quality finish. However, for long-term use in extremely damp environments or in unprotected outdoor areas, we recommend regular checks to ensure the springs remain smooth-running over time.
